Five Pieces of BlackMagic Design Gear that you GOTTA have!

We’ve always been fans of BlackMagic Design over here at Nationwide Video. Here’s a list of five awesome pieces of BlackMagic Design gear that we recommend.

  1. ATEM Television Studio Pro 4K

This is hands down the most advanced all-in-one Ultra HD live production switcher with 8 independent 12G-SDI inputs with re-sync and full standards conversion. It also features DVE, a Fairlight audio mixer with parametric EQ and compressor/limiter, media store with motion clips, talkback, & Multiview. This switcher’s eight independent 12G-SDI inputs are compatible with all popular HD and UHD signals up to 2160p60. Additionally, it features a re-syncing feature on every input which allows you to seamlessly use an assortment of pro and consumer cameras and computer feeds.

  1. HyperDeck Studio 4K Pro

This extremely powerful Ultra HD model records and plays H.264/5, ProRes and DNx files in all SD, HD and Ultra HD standards up to 2160p60. It also records SD and HD in H.264 and Ultra HD in H.265. This one easily made our top 5.

  1. Teranex AV

You simply cannot live without this converter. Ok… that’s a bit dramatic but we can confidently say that the Advanced Teranex is designed for AV professionals. It provides HDMI connections, analog audio, and low latency processing, while also being able to store and live freeze frame. It also features 12G-SDI and Quad SDI outputs for video walls.

  1. Blackmagic MultiView 16

Next up, we’ve got the MultiView 16! The Multiview 16 supports up to 16 views on an HD or Ultra HD monitor. It also features re-sync on each input for monitoring any combination of SD, HD, and Ultra HD. It’s completed with on-screen audio meters and labels. This was a no-brainer addition to our list.

  1. Smart Videohub CleanSwitch 12×12

Rounding out our list is the Smart Videohub Clean Switch 12×12. A perfect compact 6G-SDI 12 x 12 video router with built in re-synchronizer in each input. It supports SD, HD and Ultra HD formats up to 2160p30. It also includes push button and spin knob control, LCD, Ethernet remote control and more.

 

Ok we love BlackMagic Design gear so much that we’re going to add one additional piece of gear to our list!

 

  1. SmartScope Duo 4K

Surprise! As a bonus piece of gear, we chose the SmartScope Duo 4K. It’s a Dual 8″ 3 RU SDI/HD-SDI/3G-SDI/6G-SDI monitoring unit with built in scopes for technical waveform monitoring.  Each monitor is independent so you can display any combination of scope or picture view!
