The Multidyne Silver Bullet 12G/SDI Extender transports multi-rate SDI signals from 5 Mbps up to 12 Gbps over single-mode fiber. Measuring just three inches in length, they are compact yet powerful, making them ideal for a wide range of professional A/V and broadcast applications.

Built with a rugged, die-cast, powder-coated aluminum enclosure, Silver Bullets use a standard metallic ST-type optical connector and a full-size BNC for SDI video. Power is delivered via a 5–16 VDC input with a locking connector, ensuring a secure connection without risk of accidental unplugging.

LED indicators simplify troubleshooting: transmitters show DC power and optical laser status, while receivers display DC power and optical power. The RX unit doubles as a confidence optical power meter, capable of measuring any digital optical signal.

Auto-sensing inputs provide robust cable equalization and reclocking for SDI signals. When ASI is detected, reclocking is automatically disabled to allow for uninterrupted ASI transmission.

Despite their small size, Silver Bullets support long fiber runs with ease. Standard units offer -3 dBm optical launch power (0 dBm for CWDM versions), while receiver sensitivity down to -14 dBm at 12G and -18 dBm at 3G allows fiber links of 25 km or more with headroom to spare.
