Rock The House is a live event production company that started out small but has rapidly grown and developed into a full entertainment and audio-visual company. Producing and entertaining at more than 1,500 events per year, RTH knows what it takes to make every clients’ events truly unique. RTH has developed a great partnership with Nationwide Video over the course of their development and has since started leveraging Nationwide’s LED Repair services to keep their LED inventory healthy and ready to best serve their clients. We spoke with Ryan Konikoff, COO at Rock The House, about their partnership in LED Repair with Nationwide Video.

 

NW: Thanks for joining us Ryan! We appreciate all the work we’ve gotten to do together over the years. As the live event space has developed to depend heavily on delicate LED, what has your experience with Nationwide Video’s LED Repair service been like?

RK: Thanks. We greatly appreciate the partnership we have with Nationwide Video. The LED Repair service has been seamless. Nationwide LED repair techs asked the questions they needed to ask early in the process. From there, our logistics team was able to work directly with NW scheduling on dates to make sure our product was back in working order so it could be out in the field with our clients, all within a timeframe that supported tight event timelines.

NW: As Nationwide has continued to roll out Nationwide 360, a full-suite of services for live events companies, can you speak to the benefit of getting LED repaired by a partner from whom you also get rental equipment and new gear?

RK: Often the unspoken word is more important than the spoken one, and with over a decade of projects with NW, we are able to work at the speed of trust. We don’t have to ask all those get to know you questions, and wonder if they will stand behind what they say. That means top quality at every step of the process and making things right on the occasion there is a misstep.

To be short the expansion of Nationwide 360 saves us time, and saving that time allows to spend more time working with our clients. That allows us to focus on growing our business instead of vetting and onboarding vendors, managing production rep firms and sales reps that change monthly, and wondering if our relationship means enough to these large manufacturers to get a call back if something happens and we need them.

NW: How were you handling LED repair before and what caused you to change service providers?

RK: Before NW, we had a small trained team on internal staff that could repair equipment and annually the LED manufacturer would send a repair / QC team to our office for a few days. With both of those options, timing was always an issue. We were either pulling our staff away from important projects because we needed these tiles fixed yesterday or we were at the mercy of when the manufacturer decided to send their QC rep. With NW, they are working on our schedule, prioritizing what is needed to keep our equipment in the field and serving our clients where we need it to be.

NW: How important is LED repair in your business?

RK: We are in the storytelling business. In the last decade, we have been given the amazing opportunity to visually tell stories with the flexibility of LED, but this product is still delicate and needs repair from time to time. If we are not keeping up with those repairs, the stories we are telling on behalf of our clients are less impactful or technical issues distract from what they are trying to say. While not always the most fun or creative part of the industry, proper QC and repair is the thing that allows for the creative to really take flight.
